BAILEY HOUSE MUSEUM
Museum with collections of ancient Maui crafts, Hale Hōʻikeʻike exhibit relates Hawaii before coming into contact with Europeans
This museum features one of the finest collections of antique crafts on Maui. Built in 1833, the building was owned by missionary couple Edward and Caroline Bailey and it was here that the couple opened the first seminary in Wailuku. Along with the period furnishings, the many landscapes painted by Mr. Bailey are valuable records of Maui in the 19th century. The Hale Hōʻikeʻike exhibit includes many items, objects, and photographs of Hawai before European contact. Please note that hours are restricted.
