ALEXANDER & BALDWIN SUGAR MUSEUM
Museum near the still active sugar refinery, with photos and archives relating the development of the sugar industry
Next to the sugar refinery that is still in operation, a former plantation manager's house has been restored and converted into a museum. Photos and archives tell the story of the development of the sugar industry in Hawaii and the massive influx of foreign labor that it brought. The workers came from all over Asia and Portugal. This immigration is the direct cause of the important mixing of the inhabitants of the archipelago. The Maui Plantation Day Festival takes place there.
