Biltzheim, former possession of the Habsburgs, is mentioned as early as 1275, but it was not until the 18th century that the Church of St. George was built there. It has many remarkable features, including a nave with side aisles dating from 1777 and a 19th-century porch tower. An altar, in baroque style, is dedicated to the education of the Virgin and Mary Magdalene. The 18th century tabernacle houses the ciborium and hosts and the carved and gilded wooden group represents St. George wrestling against the dragon.
