PIPIWAI TRAIL
One of Maui's most popular hikes, along a trail through banyan and bamboo forests, a stream and two waterfalls.
One of the most popular hikes in Maui. The trail winds for 3.2 kilometers through giant banyan trees and bamboo forests upstream to impressive waterfalls. The first, Makahiku, is 60 meters high and the second, Waimoku, is 120 meters high. Bring walking shoes because the humidity makes the ground slippery in some places, and you will probably have to cross the stream at the end. Be careful, you need a permit to do this hike, which is also valid to go to Haleakala.
