Holua campground offering day trips, accessible only by foot and a few miles from the hiking trail.

Free and mandatory permit to be requested online. Reservations open from six months in advance. Walk-in campground at 8,000 feet above sea level. Four miles from the Halemauu Trail. Restrooms. Water on site depending on season, but treat it before drinking. Day hikes from the campground are possible. Please note that this is an isolated mountain campground, so bring your own water and food to be independent and do not leave any waste on site. Warm clothes to bring.
