American airlines was created in 1926 to transport mail between the different states of the country and was elected "airline of the year" in 2017. American airlines offers direct flights between Los Angeles and Lihue in 5h30 or between Phoenix and Lihue. To reach the other American islands, it is imperative to fly via Honolulu, located only 35 minutes away from Kauai, an extremely short flight but offering beautiful views of the mountain ranges and crystal clear waters of the two islands of the archipelago.
