GROVE FARM HOMESTEAD MUSEUM
One of Hawaii's first sugarcane plantations turned into a museum after the death of George N. Wilcox
In 1864, George N. Wilcox, the son of a missionary, founded one of the first sugarcane plantations in Hawaii. This farm, where he also had his home, became a museum at his death in 1933. Photos, period furniture and archives retrace the work of the workers and allow a better understanding of this period of sugar manna that enriched the investors and also shaped the Hawaiian population thanks to the mixing of races that the arrival of foreign workers brought. The guided tour, conducted by volunteers from the island, lasts 2 hours.
