Sandy beach in Kapaa, known as a whale watching spot in winter
Kaelia Beach is located a few miles north of Kapa'a. It is possible to reach it by bike because the beach is a stage of the Ke Ala Hele Makalae bike path which continues northward. A very beautiful beach with fine sand but where you can only take a dip because of the strong waves. It is, in contrast, an absolute paradise for surfers and boogie-boarders. Kaelia beach is also known as a whale watching spot in winter, which can be seen from the shore when they delight the walkers with a few jumps.
