Once parked on the small parking lot that serves the beach, you have to take a marked path that gently descends to Donkey Beach. Isolated and quiet, it is a peaceful oasis for those who want to sunbathe alone, but swimmers should refrain from doing so because of the strong currents. Many surfers come here to challenge the indomitable waves; only the experienced ones, of course. Donkey Beach" owes its name to the donkeys that used to work in the nearby sugar plantations and that sometimes walked on the beach.
