MC BRYDE AND ALLERTON GARDENS
Two beautiful gardens with many trees and plants endemic to Hawaii in Poipu.
Mc Bryde's and Allerton Gardens are two beautiful gardens that are home to many of Hawaii's endemic trees and plants. The Allerton Garden was inhabited by Queen Emma in the 1860's and was also used as a film location for some scenes in Jurassic Park and Pirates of the Caribbean. The Mc Bryde garden can be discovered in free visit during 2 hours. Several guided tours are offered: the Allerton Tour of 2h30, which goes through the garden and the works of art scattered in the vegetation. The tour can also be done in 3 hours at sunset with an additional visit to the Allerton house and a meal on the lawn. The "Best of both worlds tour" allows you to discover both gardens, Allerton and Mc Bryde in 2h30. The more spectacular "Allerton by fire" tour combines a guided tour, dinner and a fire, music and dance show in 3 hours. The setting is ideal to enjoy such an animation. Finally, you can visit the Allerton Garden at dusk (Twilight tour) in 2h30. In the night, the sense of smell and hearing awaken to perceive the movements of the nocturnal fauna which takes over the activity of the day. Visits are by reservation only and can be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance. Visitors must arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the tour to board the bus that takes you to the site. Free movie nights during the summer.
