GRAND-PRÉ NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE
A place of remembrance for the Arcadians in the middle of a beautiful park at Grand-Pré, surrounded by old willows and with ponds.
Grand-Pré is, in a way, the place of memory of the Acadians, symbolized by the small commemorative church, built in 1930 on the supposed site of the church and cemetery of the Acadian village of the 17th and 18th centuries, in the middle of a beautiful park surrounded by old willows and embellished with ponds. In the church, the turbulent history of the Acadians and their deportation during the Great Upheaval of 1755 are evoked through paintings and exhibits.
