LOS AGAVES
It's hard to find affordable plates at Pike Place market, and hard to find a Mexican who doesn't pour into meat and sauce or "Americanized" dishes. Los Agaves is a small wonder combining both. Jaime and her family, who have lived in Seattle for 20 years, offer an authentic family cuisine. See tacos with beef tongue, onion and coriander, huarache (corn cake, pico de gallo guacamole salad, black beans and meat of your choice), or campechana, a shrimp and octopus cocktail with homemade cocktail sauce and guacamole. To water it all, sip a fresh horchata (infusion of rice, cinnamon and vanilla).
