UNDERGROUND TOWER
Guided tours through underground passages of Pioneer Square to discover the history of Seattle at its birth around Pioneer Square. We discover the glass slabs of the pavements trodden by pedestrians. We discover the fascinating history of the city of the gold rush pioneers, the wooden city underwater around the port destroyed by a violent fire and rebuilt high up on a network of basements in the middle of the 19th century. These spaces fell into disuse, sheltered former bear speakeasy during prohibition, housed many of the many homeless people so numerous in Seattle (nearly 12,000 in the city) until its renovation began in the 1970s.
