Established since 1861, the university was located in the centre of the Fairmont Olympic Hotel prior to its relocation in 1895 near Lake Washington. Today, it is the largest university in Washington State with over 35 000 students. It studied law, medicine, fine arts and new technologies. The campus is really pleasant to visit, with its green and flowery lawns, its small lakes, its theatre and its 200 building buildings to the unusual and sometimes very original architecture.
