Launched in 200, they have invested massively in medical research against the so-called diseases of poor countries in the last decade through their foundation, which has greatly contributed to the progress made in research against AIDS and malaria, particularly polio and tuberculosis. The foundation is working on 4 programs, on health, but also on fighting hunger and poverty, improving secondary education in the United States, and supporting disadvantaged families in Washington State.
