WAUX-HALL PARK
This five-hectare park was created in the middle of the 19th century as a result of the desire of the upper middle class to be able to take pleasant walks in a park worthy of the name. It was designed by the landscape architect Louis Fuchs and then bought by the city of Mons. Its undeniable asset lies in its very beautiful dendrological collection: an American walnut tree, a weeping lime tree, etc. flourish in the park, as well as secular trees. The water features and flowerbeds, with no less than 100,000 bulbs, bloom in the spring to the delight of walkers.
