This museum belongs to the Royal Textile Academy, an NGO founded by Queen Mother Ashi Sangay Choden Wangchuck in 2005. Its mission: to safeguard and promote the country's premier art, the tradition of weaving. The museum houses a fine collection of traditional royal outfits (gho for men and kira for women). The store also sells beautiful fabrics made in Bhutan. Please note that photography is strictly forbidden. Opposite, take a look at the groups of women at work on their looms.
