NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TRADITIONAL MEDICINE
Institute dedicated to traditional Bhutanese medicine, housing various rooms where herbal remedies and potions are made
This institute created in 1978 is dedicated to traditional Bhutanese medicine, very close to Tibetan medicine, itself influenced by Chinese and Indian medicine. It houses a museum that lists several hundred plants and minerals used in the composition of the local pharmacopoeia. Throughout the visit, you will visit the various rooms where remedies and potions are made from plants (the famous cordyceps) or insect larvae.
