Small handmade paper factory, with adjoining store selling paper products such as cards, envelopes...
In Dzongkha, "jungshi" means "natural". Here, paper is produced by hand from wild laurel bark. In this small, traditional paper mill, you can see all the stages of production: soaking, scalding, sorting, grinding, layering, pressing and drying. An adjoining store sells objects made from the paper: travel journals, maps, writing paper, envelopes, lanterns, calendars... all great gifts to take home!
