Small hamlet with magnificent views, opposite Wangdue Dzong, considered one of the oldest villages in Bhutan
Rinchengang is a small hamlet opposite the Wangdue Dzong. It is considered one of the oldest villages in Bhutan. Probably because mastery of the stone arts here is a centuries-old tradition handed down from generation to generation. It's about twenty minutes' walk up a pretty hill (it's uphill!) that offers a magnificent view of the Dzong, the Wangdue Phodrang valley and the river that spans it. If you're in the area, it's well worth making a detour to this village of yesteryear.
