Jakar Dzong, perched at the very top of the village, is the seat of the village administration
Perched high up in the village, the Jakar dzong is not home to a community, but simply the seat of the administration. Its rooms hide some beautiful pieces: a monumental statue of Jampa, a Chenrezig with 1,000 arms or the eight forms of Padmasambhava. The frescoes represent Guru Rinpoche between his two wives, the eighteen Arhat, disciples of the Buddha who attained enlightenment, and the lokapala, guardians of the four cardinal points. If one chooses to go up the road by the right bank, one comes across the Wangdichoeling Palace.
