CHAPMAN'S BAOBABS
Chapman's Baobab is considered a national monument in Botswana but also one of the largest trees in Africa.
On January 7, 2016, Chapman's Baobab, over 1,000 years old and with a circumference of 25 meters fell to the ground! Considered a national monument in Botswana but also one of the largest trees in Africa, it bore the initials of the famous explorers and served as a landmark for many travellers and even navigators at one time... The reasons for its fall are not known, but it is believed that high temperatures and late rains were contributing factors. Sad news!
