In Serowe, the tomb of the late President Seretse Khama and his wife is located at Serowe Royal Cemetery, on top of a mound overlooking the kgotla, along with the graves of the great chiefs who preceded him, including his grandfather Khama III. Revealing a panoramic view of the city, the site is decorated with a bronze statue representing the Ngwato totem pole: the Cape duiker. The visit must be authorized by the Serowe police office, which is located in the city centre near the kgotla.
