GABORONE GAME RESERVE
Small reserve with a fairly wide variety of birds and mammals, like a successful reduction of the bush in Gaborone.
Created in 1988, this small 550-hectare reserve is a successful reduction of the bush, offering a welcome escape from the capital and the chance to improvise a picnic. Although very modest in size, it is home to a fairly wide variety of mammals, including eland, zebra, oryx, blue wildebeest, springbok, Cape duiker, harnessed guib and warthog. Numerous bird species also make their home here, including ostriches, kingfishers and hornbills. A small educational center invites visitors to learn more about the environment.
