MOKOLODI NATURE RESERVE
Reserve with animals that have been extinct for years in southeast Botswana. A place of education and conservation.
In the middle of the bush and the hills, the Mokolodi reserve covers about 3,000 ha. It is home to animals that have been extinct for many years in south-eastern Botswana due to industrialization. More than just a reserve, it is a very dynamic place for education and conservation. If you want to spend the day there is the possibility to eat there. For those who want to stay in the reserve, several accommodation sites are available: a cottage complex, a campsite, and the Alexander Mc Call Rest Camp. The five cabins are fully equipped with all the comforts and have kitchens. They are well isolated from each other and overlook a body of water where wildlife comes to drink. Each of the five campgrounds can accommodate a maximum of eight people. Campers must bring their own equipment. Finally, in the southwestern part of the reserve is the Alexander McCall Smith Traditional Rest Camp: a camp, surrounded by its old stone wall, with a few rustic but comfortable huts in the local style. Meals can be served there. Standard programs can be offered and include accommodation, meals and activities. However, you are not in the bush and the big predators are not there, but if you are in lack of contact with the animal world, the activities here are very varied: game-drive, day or night, guided game-walk, stalking a white rhino or a giraffe, walking with elephants or horseback riding.
