The train connecting Buenos Aires (from Constitución station in the city center) to La Plata, via Quilmes, went through a period of full renovation starting in 2008. Finally, it was on October 18, 2017 at 6:05 am that the first train arrived at the station! The old, almost century-old locomotives were replaced by a state-of-the-art Chinese electric train, which leaves every 12 minutes instead of 25 minutes, and links the two cities in 55 minutes instead of 80 minutes. For the anecdote this station was used as a set for the first scene of the movie 7 years in Tibet.
