INSTITUTO ARGENTINO DE RADIOASTRONOMÍA - INSTITUT ARGENTIN DE RADIOASTRONOMIE
This institute is located between Buenos Aires and La Plata. It has two antennas, each 30 m in diameter, composed of a parabolic lattice reflector and a central steel structure. Their nominal weight is about 30 tons! Both can be moved and oriented according to the needs of astronomers and the celestial objects studied. Guided tours of all these facilities are offered from April to December: we strongly advise you to contact us by e-mail before setting a date, as these tours are a priori intended for groups already formed rather than for individuals coming on an ad hoc basis. On the other hand - and with reservations - they also include access to the telescope control room.
