MUSEUM OF FOLK ARTS AND TRADITIONS BARTHELEMY BOGANDA
Set in the former house of the nation's founder, the Boganda Museum offers a rich and dense overview of the city's culture. In addition to a captivating introduction to the world of Pygmies and Des-Mbororo, he offers a collection of personal objects from Boganda, including manuscripts and photos relating to the history of the country. The "Oral Rhythms and Traditions" room brings together many musical instruments from all regions (sanza, xylophone, lèvres, harps-cithares…). They will also see the inescapable jet knives, traditional costumes, specimens of naturalized animals, carved bois wooden statuettes or ivory, zandé command sticks, pana masks and yakoma pottery, a great basketry variety and an interesting collection of currencies from colonial times to today. A highly recommended visit.
