DOMAINE VICO CLOS VENTURI
The Vico estate was created at the beginning of 1900. It is the only wine estate located in the interior of the island. It extends over 85 hectares, at an average altitude of more than 400 metres. It is composed of two complexes, one comprising about 50 hectares on the slopes of Ponte-Leccia and the other of 30 hectares at the foot of the Aiguilles de Popolasca. The soil is clayey-siliceous, which gives strength to its red wines and finesse to its whites and rosés. The main grape varieties are niellucciu and sciaccarellu for reds, niellucciu, sciaccarellu and grenache for rosés and finally vermentinu for white wines. Most of the secondary varieties are made up of native varieties. The cellar has been completely renovated in recent years and combines tradition with the latest oenological innovations. The vinification temperatures are controlled and allow to optimize the aromatic potential of the grapes. In recent years, the quality of the estate's wines has been rewarded with numerous medals.
