KALENIĆ (КАЛЕНИЋ)
One of the most famous kafanas in Belgrade. All traditional Serbian dishes are à la carte: from čevapi to grilled meats and absolutely delicious stews such as Leskovac's muškalica, a very fine stew. You can also taste less common specialities such as breaded brains, all at reasonable prices, despite the success of the place. Thus, a complete meal with wine will rarely exceed 1,500 dinars. More expensive than an ordinary kafana but not too expensive either! The old-fashioned room and the terrace, late at night when the noise of traffic has deserted, are not lacking in charm. Another detail that proves that nothing here has changed so much since Tito's time, the toilets are not free. On the way, you will meet a pee lady who collects a modest service gabelle (about 20 RSD). O time, suspend your flight!
