ÎLE D'ADA CIGANLIJA

At 4 km from the city center, on an artificial peninsula located on the Sava river, a complex of relaxation and sport has been developed. Several beaches welcome summer visitors. A real oasis of greenery and freshness in a city that can be stifling in summer, Ada Ciganlija traditionally offers swimming, soccer and chess games. Since the extension of the island in 2002, golf, paintball, aqua-soccer, field field hockey and rugby are also available, but Ada Ciganlija remains the ideal place for family picnics and swimming, which is supervised. Faced with its success, the lake has structured its activities. You can practice :

Golf (www.golfclub.co.rs). The only golf club in Belgrade is located here. 9-hole course: 3,125 RSD. 18-hole course: 4 375 RSD.

Biking. With many bike paths, you can ride around the island and beyond by renting mountain bikes from RSD 250 per hour or RSD 500 per day.

Add of course the beaches, made of gravel, one of which, at the very end, is for nudists, bars and restaurants, a small train that goes around the lake, pedal boat rentals, a water slide, in short, a unique vacation spot in a capital city. So, on some hot days, there are a lot of people, up to 300,000 people. But there is plenty of room, the lake is 4.2 km long and the entire domain is 800 hectares.

A little further on is Ada Safari, a small lake that is much wilder and intended for fishing and contemplation of nature.

To get there , take buses 51 and 511 from the train station or 23 and 37 from Knez Miloša Avenue. By car, follow the signs to "Sajam/Fair" from the center, or straight ahead from the train station, leaving it on your left. The parking lot is 200 RSD for the whole day.
