The Palais de la Federation is also called the Serbian Palace or the 1 SIV Building. Built in 1959 for the former federal government, it will also be the seat of the government of Serbia and Montenegro until 2006, where it passes under Serbia's sole guardianship. With its surface of 5 500 m 2, it is one of the first buildings in Novi Beograd, and this is where the first Non-Aligned Movement conference in 1961 was held. True to its tradition, the building still hosts a few foreign delegations.
