THE PREFECTURE
Today the seat of the city council, in the park facing the old town, this former prefecture is known for having the largest historical painting in Serbia. The Battle of Senta, a work by Ferenz Eisenhut from 1896, depicts the victory over the Turks on the plain of Senta on an area of 28m2. In the foreground of the painting, Prince Eugene of Savoy is shown taking the Pasha Kisig Džafer prisoner. The dome of the former prefecture is reminiscent of the dome of the Venetian church of Santa Maria della Salute. A set of beauty.
