JOVAN ZMAJ HIGH SCHOOL
Located in one of the oldest parts of Novi Sad, this first Serbian high school is also the largest in the city. It bears the name of the greatest Serbian poet, Jovan Jovanović Zmaj, who lived exactly at the location where high school is today. Built in 1900 in neo-Renaissance style, Serbian lyceum took over from an institution created in 1810 next to the current cathedral. In the pediment of high school, a very visible Cyrillic inscription pays tribute to the donor and member of the Austrian Parliament, Baron Miloš Bajić.
