Walking up Svetozar Marković Street, one comes across this large white building topped with a dome visible from afar.
It was here that the Karlowitz Peace Agreement was signed between the Turks and the Austrians on January 26, 1699. The protagonists began the negotiations in a small, low house, whose four entrances allowed all parties to be represented.
The present chapel was not built until 1817 on the site of the Turkish camp.
