SAINT-GÉRARD-DE-CSANÁD CHURCH

Built in 1861 in a neo-Gothic style, this Catholic church (the largest in Serbia) has an interesting facade with its two high, tapered bell towers and a large rose window, a rare feature in these parts. The Viennese architect wanted to give it all the elements of the Gothic style: long transept, high buttresses and Latin cross.
Inside, the numerous stained glass windows and sculptures reinforce this affiliation to the medieval period.
