BISHOP'S PALACE
This beautiful neoclassical palace was built from 1750 to 1757 by the Orthodox bishop Jovan Georgijević to house the headquarters of the Banat Eparchy. Together with the Chapel of Saints Michael and Gavrilo, the palace forms a complex reminiscent of Viennese palaces, with its monumental wrought iron entrance and elaborately shaped slate roofs. Inside, the chapel houses a baroque iconostasis organized around a large representation of Christ: it is the work of the painter Nikola Nešković. There is also a small episcopal museum.
