This baroque cathedral, known in town as the Great Church, was erected in honor of Subotica's patron saint, St. Teresa of Avila in 1779 but has been renovated several times since. The cathedral is 61 meters long, 26 meters wide and 18 meters high and was built at the end of the 17th century by the Budapest architect Franz Kaufmann. The paintings are by Josef Schoefft and the wall decorations by the Zagreb master Johannes Clausen. But the stained glass windows date from the 19th century.
