The art of straw is a unique naive art, born in and around Subotica. This naive technique of straw is organised in Tavakutu, a village near Subotica, since 1986. The best works are displayed in the gallery. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the gallery organizes art exhibitions to popularize the technique of straw. The origin of this folk craft comes from the time when young girls who fall into the boredom weave and contacts the straw to create works that tell their daily lives.
