Negotin is located 55 km south of Kladovo. This region houses numerous wine cellars dating from the late th century, the most famous of which are those of Rajac (Rajačke pivnice), Rogljevo and Štubik. They are on the list of cultural monuments of exceptional importance in the country and were presented for a UNESCO World Heritage inscription. Negotin is the birthplace of Stevan Mokranjac (1856-1914), one of Serbia's most famous musicians, and Đorđe Stanojević (1858-1921), a renowned physicist and astronomer.
