NENADOVIĆ TOWER

On one of the heights near the center, one of the emblematic monuments of the Valjevians' struggle for their independence in the 19th century. This three-story square tower was intended to defend the city, which was liberated in 1804, from the Turks. At the end of 1813 it fell into the hands of the Ottomans who turned it into a prison and tortured the leaders of the first two uprisings. To find it, from the center, go up in the direction of Šabac. At the^third intersection on the left, Jakova Nenadović Street. The tower is under the pine trees.
