HOUSE SVETOZAR MARKOVIC
Go there and contact
A typical house in rural Choumadie, where the socialist Svetozar Marković lived part of his life. The museum exhibits documents and personal objects of this 19th century Serbian socialist theorist. Between 1873 and 1875, the house housed a revolutionary printing house (Serbian: društvena štamparija), in which Svetozar Marković (1846-1875) printed his publications Javnost and Oslobođenje and wrote a large number of articles. The building is an example of construction inspired by Ottoman architecture in the Balkans.
