NATIONAL MUSEUM
The museum has mainly in its permanent exhibitions Serbian painting of the nineteenth century, some pieces with modern national painting and sculpture.
The majestic building is representative of the architecture of Choumadie in the early nineteenth century, as the museum building was then part of the residential palace of Miloš Obrenović when, in the 1820s, Kragujevac was the capital of Serbia. Incidentally, the museum grew out of his collection of paintings, joined in 1837 by a collection of minerals and coins.
