A visit to the museum is a must, as it exhibits the photos and writings of thousands of inhabitants killed on the fateful day of October 21, 1941. On that day, in the morning, in response to the actions of Tito's partisans, the Nazi generals gave the order to evacuate the entire male population to the Šumarice hills above the city. 7,000 people were shot in twenty-four hours and marked the Nazi occupation of Serbia.
