Located on the heights of Pristina, next to Arbëria Park, this military base serves as the headquarters of the Kosovo Force (KFOR), a NATO contingent operating under UN mandate since 1999. The 3.8 square kilometer camp is housed in the former film studios of the Kosovafilmi company founded in 1969. KFOR has 3,800 troops and four other bases in the country, in Ferizaj/Uroševac, Peja/Peć, Prizren and Maxhunaj/Novo Selo Mađunsko (22 km northwest of Pristina).
