This 35 m high stone tower (Minarja e Arasta Xhamisë, Minare Arasta džamije) is all that remains of the Evrenos-Bey Mosque (1538) in the former commercial district of Arasta. The building and its sharia (quarter) were destroyed in 1963 during the modernisation of the city centre. The minaret, topped by a conical roof, was renovated in 2007. Note the seal of Solomon ("Star of David") that remains at the top of the column to scare away demons and infidels.
