HAMMAM HAXHI-BEY
This Ottoman hamam (Hamami i Haxhi Beut, Hamam Hadži-bega) was built between 1462 and 1485 with a donation from the city governor Haxhi Bey. Covered with five openwork lead domes, it forms an elegant ensemble with the neighbouring Bulla-Zadeja-Hasan Mosque dating from 1587. The latter has been almost completely altered since the 19th century. As for the baths, they ceased to function around 1904, when İpek (the Turkish name for Peja/Peć) lost its status as a regional capital. Today they are used from time to time as an exhibition hall.
