Like a giant ship's prow, the pointed makuti roof of the Essque Zalu hotel impresses on arrival. Designer furniture and lighting contrast with the landscape, and the blue of the ocean is superimposed on that of the swimming pool, one of the largest in Nungwi. On its impressive jetty, one of Nungwi's best restaurants: The Jetty. The bungalows are scattered among the vegetation, suitable for families and couples (1 or 2 bedrooms), designed with luxury and Swahili touches. The spa is luxurious and sought-after, and the staff are genuinely friendly.
