26 m high statue of Shiva, lost in the countryside, between old ruined Muslim mausoleums, a popular pilgrimage site
Lost in the countryside, between ancient Muslim mausoleums in ruins, this statue of Shiva 26 meters high and weighing 1 500 tons, was inaugurated in 2006. It is nicknamed Basanta Vana and would be the second largest statue of Shiva in India. A small linga is located under the pedestal of the statue. Next to it is a shrine dedicated to Ganesh. Founded by an organization, many charity events take place there. The place becomes year after year a pilgrimage site more and more frequented.
