BASILICA COLEGIATA DE NUESTRA SEÑORA DE GUANAJUATO
Church of Mannerist Baroque style from the end of the 17th century, with a wooden statue of an Andalusian Virgin from the 16th century
Church of baroque mannerist style built at the end of the 17th century, before undergoing successive modifications, the main one in neoclassical style in the 19th century; only the pink stone facades of the three entrances date back to the original period. It was a simple parish until 1957, when it was elevated to the rank of basilica. It conserves a wooden statue of an Andalusian Virgin from the 16th century, given to the city by the Spanish king Philip II in 1557.
